Lesson Policies

Guitar Lessons

  1. Trial Lesson: A one-time trial lesson is available for €20 (30 min), held at VARO Studio Amsterdam or online via Zoom. No subscription required. Non-refundable.​

  2. Fixed Schedule: Lessons take place on the same day and time each week.

  3. ​Lesson Duration: Each guitar lesson lasts 30 minutes.

  4. ​One-on-One Lessons: All lessons are individual — you receive the instructor's full attention.

  5. ​Location: Lessons are held at VARO Studio Amsterdam or online via Zoom. Confirm your preferred format at the time of booking.

  6. ​Drop-Off & Pick-Up: In-studio: drop off your student at the scheduled time and collect them promptly after. No waiting area available; nearby cafes may be used if needed.

  7. ​Age-Based Subscription: Choose the 'Adult' subscription (21+) or the 'Youth' subscription (under 21). For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must book and is responsible for all obligations under this policy.

  8. ​Rescheduling: You may reschedule one lesson per month, within the same week, with at least 7 days' notice. Late notice requests will not be accommodated.

  9. ​Public Holidays: No lessons on public holidays.

  10. ​Equipment: In-studio: bring your own guitar and amplifier if needed. Online: ensure a stable internet connection and working camera.

  11. ​No Refunds: By booking a subscription, you acknowledge that the service begins within the 14-day statutory withdrawal period and expressly waive your right of withdrawal. No refunds are offered. This waiver takes effect upon confirmation of your booking.

  12. ​Failed Payments: A 7-day grace period applies to failed payments. If unresolved, the subscription is cancelled and the time slot is released. Resuming requires a new booking; the original slot cannot be guaranteed.

  13. ​Booking: Book at least 48 hours before your first lesson. Bookings made within 48 hours will start the following week.

  14. ​Subscription Cancellation: Cancel anytime. Lessons continue until the end of the current billing period.

  15. ​Price Changes: VARO Studio Amsterdam reserves the right to adjust subscription prices. You will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.

  16. ​Instructor Cancellation: If a lesson is cancelled by VARO Studio Amsterdam due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, it will be rescheduled within the same calendar month. No refunds will be issued.

  17. ​Communication: All communication takes place via email or WhatsApp. Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy at varoproductions.com.

  18. ​Equipment Care: Applies to in-studio lessons only. Please treat all studio equipment with care. Damage will be invoiced within 14 days, based on repair costs or replacement value if repair is not possible.

  19. ​Regular Attendance: Consistent attendance and practice are key to progress.

  20. ​No Extra Attendees: Lessons are for the enrolled student only. Please do not bring additional persons.

  21. Time Slot Guarantee: Your time slot is guaranteed only while your subscription is active. Cancelling and resubscribing later does not guarantee the same slot.

Music Production Lessons

  1. Trial Lesson: A one-time trial lesson is available for €20 (30 min), held online via Zoom. No subscription required. Non-refundable.

  2. ​Fixed Schedule: Lessons take place on the same day and time each week.

  3. ​Lesson Duration: Each music production lesson lasts 60 minutes.

  4. ​One-on-One Lessons: All lessons are individual — you receive the instructor's full attention.

  5. ​Online Lessons: Music production lessons are held exclusively online via Zoom.

  6. ​Technical Setup: Ensure the Zoom app is installed on your laptop or desktop before your first lesson. You must be able to share your DAW session with audio output during the lesson. Technical issues on the student's end do not entitle the student to a replacement lesson or refund.

  7. ​Age-Based Subscription: Choose the 'Adult' subscription (21+) or the 'Youth' subscription (under 21). For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must book the subscription and is responsible for all obligations under this policy.

  20. Daylight Saving Time: The EU transitions to summer time several weeks before the US. If this affects your scheduled time, you will be notified at least 7 days in advance with an adjusted time for the affected period.

Educational Software Discounts

  1. Eligibility: VARO Studio Amsterdam students may be eligible for educational discounts on professional music software and plugins, offered directly by software manufacturers. These discounts are not provided or guaranteed by VARO Studio Amsterdam.

  2. Subscription Requirement: To request a proof-of-enrollment document, you must have an active subscription and have completed at least three consecutive months of paid lessons.

  3. Proof of Enrollment: Eligible students may request a proof-of-enrollment document to submit directly to the software manufacturer as part of their discount application.

  4. Document Validity: The proof-of-enrollment document is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

  5. Manufacturer Approval: Approval is determined solely by the manufacturer and may vary by company. VARO Studio Amsterdam does not guarantee approval and a proof-of-enrollment document does not ensure the discount will be granted.

  6. No Affiliation: VARO Studio Amsterdam is not affiliated with or endorsed by any software manufacturer. Discount programs are offered independently by the respective manufacturers.

  7. Policy Updates: These terms may be updated at any time. Students are responsible for reviewing this policy periodically.
