I'm Bob Varo — guitarist, music producer, and founder of VARO Studio Amsterdam, located on Spuistraat in Amsterdam Centrum. I graduated from the Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam and have performed at festivals, clubs, and on national television across the Netherlands and beyond. I teach guitar to beginners and intermediate players of all ages, both in the studio and online.
Every lesson is built around you — your level, your style, and what you actually want to play. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or working on your technique, we'll build a solid foundation while developing your own sound. This covers technique, posture, tone, rhythm, improvisation, ear training, music theory, and expression.
You'll learn to read chord charts, write melodies, analyze songs, and compose your own music — on acoustic or electric guitar, across pop, rock, blues, classical, or alternative styles.
If you're also interested in recording and producing your own music, I offer music production lessons online — ideal for turning your ideas into finished, professional tracks.

I'm Bob Varo — guitarist, music producer, and founder of VARO Studio Amsterdam. I picked up my first guitar at eight and haven't put it down since. After graduating from the Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam and working in some of the biggest recording studios in the world, teaching became the natural next step — sharing what I've learned with students who are serious about developing their own sound.
Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or want to take your music production skills further, I'll work with you directly, at your pace, toward your goals.
