I'm Bob Varo, founder of VARO Studio Amsterdam — a professional recording studio offering recording, music production, mixing, and mastering services in Amsterdam and remotely worldwide. A graduate of the Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam, I've worked with Warner Chappell Music, Disturbed, Hellyeah, Sigala, and Jason Hook across rock, metal, indie, alternative, pop, country, and orchestral music. I work directly with artists, bands, singer-songwriters, vocalists, composers, and independent labels — giving every project personal, hands-on involvement from the first idea to the final master.
Production
I take your ideas — whether a rough demo, a voice memo, or a full concept — and build them into complete, professionally arranged productions. From acoustic and electric guitars, drums, and bass to orchestrations, synthesizers, beats, and vocals, I handle every element of the arrangement personally. The result is a production that sounds exactly the way you heard it in your head, built to the standard of international releases and streaming platforms.
Recording
I record artists, bands, singer-songwriters, vocalists, guitarists, bassists, and string and percussion players — both in VARO Studio Amsterdam and remotely worldwide. Every session is approached with precision and care, ensuring each performance is captured at its best. Whether it's a single vocal track or a full band recording, I handle the technical side completely so you can focus entirely on your performance.
Mixing
I mix tracks across rock, metal, indie, alternative, pop, country, and orchestral music — both in Amsterdam and remotely worldwide. Every mix is built around the character of the song, balancing clarity, depth, and dynamics while staying true to the artist's intention. I work closely with each client throughout the mixing process, ensuring the final result reflects exactly what the track needs to sound its best.
Mastering
I master tracks for digital platforms, streaming services, and physical releases — ensuring every release meets current loudness standards while retaining the dynamics, character, and feel of the mix. Mastering is the final step before your music reaches the world, and I treat it with the same precision and attention I bring to every other stage of the process. The result is a polished, release-ready master that sounds consistent and professional across every platform and playback system.

Whether you're sending stems for mixing and mastering, building a production from scratch online, or recording locally in Amsterdam, the workflow is adapted to your situation and schedule.
